About Me:
Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by sports on the radio. I would have my Walkman on as I headed home from school, catching Tigers baseball broadcasts being done to perfection by Ernie Harwell. In June 1997, we played street hockey in the cul-de-sac with Bruce Martyn's voice going up about six octaves as Darren McCarty clinched the Stanley Cup for the Red Wings in Game Four against the Flyers.
I didn't know it at the time, but I was learning not just how to play sports at an early age, I was getting a glimpse into how to broadcast them at a Hall of Fame level. Frank Beckmann calling University of Michigan football, Mark Champion and George Blaha telling us about the hardcourt exploits of the "Going to Work" era Pistons. I always wanted my chance at doing the same.
I went to college and started my first job as a banker, but radio never left me. In my late 20's, I finally pursued broadcasting school and dived head-first into a career that has taken me from Bad Axe, Michigan to St. Cloud, Minnesota, and all parts in between in the Upper Midwest. I have now done hundreds of games at the high school and college levels. I even learned that I love to call volleyball matches, something that would have shocked me a decade ago when I made this leap.
Now I am looking to do it full-time. Please take a listen to some of my audio samples on the next page. I am actively looking for a gig, baseball opportunities going straight to the front of the line.
